EN AW-2024 (AlCu4Mg1) rolled aluminium plate
Rolled aluminium plates

EN AW-2024 (AlCu4Mg1) rolled aluminium plate

A high-strength, readily machinable alloy grade. Its primary alloying element is copper (Cu), which gives it exceptional strength but also limits its corrosion resistance and weldability.

  • Very good machinability
  • Higher than medium strength
  • Excellent formability
Field of use
  • Machine superstructures
  • High-strength structures
  • Defence industry
  • Aerospace industry

Notes:
• The bend-factor column always shows the value given by the standard for 180° or 90° bending – where neither is given, “—” is shown.
• b: substantially smaller bend radii can be achieved after solution heat treatment.
• In the DIN EN 485-2 table, for alloy EN AW-2024 Temper T451 is not listed, therefore it is not shown in the summary above either.
